Background Info
These photos were taken at the 2005 Roadster Show at the Seattle Exhibition Center. Some of the photos are a little fuzzy, but I posted them anyway. Just for completeness.
It was a good day for a ride, and there was plenty of parking in the garage, although bikes had to pay full price. We parked on the roof, with a great view of the Puget Sound and the Seattle sky line. The brisk ride in left me eager to see what wonders awaited inside, for little else could get me indoors on such a beautiful day when I would rather continue my ride.
Most of the photos are of bikes. That because I'm a rider, and I think there are enough people out there who focus on hot rods already. The cars I did photograph caught my eye for various reasons, including being painted by a shop nearby.
I focused on bikes that were entered in the show. I did skip some very fine machines that shops and dealers had on display, and I did capture a few bikes that were not show entries. I especially like the Lynn Ashcroft display. His bikes reach back into the past for inspiration and will carry you forward to another generation.
This show is an excellent place to see builders and materials pushed to new limits. It's a place to see what you could do if you had an unlimited budget. It's a place to see high quality workmanship. It's a place to meet the best painters, body work, and custom builders. It's a place to dream, and a place to honor those who make dreams come true.
